چکیده
The High-Luminosity phase of LHC, scheduled to begin in late 2027, will deliver up ten times the LHC nominal instantaneous luminosity experiments. To ensure sound performance under higher pile-up and radiation conditions, ATLAS hadronic Tile Calorimeter (TileCal) replace both on- off- detector electronics systems during long shutdown 3 (2025-2027). upgraded front-end system continuously digitize read out shaped photomultiplier tube (PMT) signals from every TileCal cell at a rate 40 MHz, transmitting them over high-speed fiber links new back-end be stored latency pipelines digitally summed produce improved trigger tower data for Level-1 trigger. are based on radiation-qualified commercial components, use extensive redundancy minimize single point failures. upgrade program has undergone R&D beam tests, “demonstrator” module was installed 2019 integration testing actual environment.

Silicon strip detectors for ATLAS at the HL-LHC upgrade
The present ATLAS silicon strip tracker (SCT) and transition radiation tracker (TRT) are to be replaced with new silicon strip detectors as part of the inner tracker system (ITK) for the Phase-II upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider, HL-LHC. We have carried out intensive R&D programs based on n-on-p microstrip detectors to fabricate improved radiation hard strip detectors that can survive the r...
متن کاملCALIBRATION AND MONITORING OF THE TILE HADRONIC CALORIMETER OF ATLAS WITH A 137Cs SOURCE
Monitoring and intercalibration of the ATLAS TileCal is based on a hydraulically driven gamma source system. Extensive R&D has been carried out and has led to a detailed design for the full ATLAS TileCal. A prototype system has been built and tested on the Barrel and Extended Barrel modules. The realisation of the Cs source system, results concerning its performance, comparisons with other cali...
متن کاملDevelopment of n-in-p pixel modules for the ATLAS Upgrade at HL-LHC
Thin planar pixel modules are promising candidates to instrument the inner layers of the new ATLAS pixel detector for HLLHC, thanks to the reduced contribution to the material budget and their high charge collection efficiency after irradiation. 100-200 μm thick sensors, interconnected to FE-I4 read-out chips, have been characterized with radioactive sources and beam tests at the CERN-SPS and D...
متن کاملNoise Characterization of the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter Readout System
It is shown that the addition of a low pass RC filter to the current ATLAS Tile Calorimeter 3-in-1 card decreases the high frequency noise. A peak in the output voltage is found for 29 Mhz input noise but is filtered out by the same low pass filter.
متن کاملEvent filter monitoring with the ATLAS tile calorimeter
The ATLAS Tile Calorimeter detector is presently involved in an intense phase of subsystems integration and commissioning with muons of cosmic origin. Various monitoring programs have been developed at different levels of the data flow to tune the set-up of the detector running conditions and to provide a fast and reliable assessment of the data quality already during data taking. This paper fo...
